Lake of the Ozarks - July 2010

Lake of the Ozarks - Family Vacation

For our family vacation this year we went to the Lake of the Ozarks. We went with my Mom, Dad, my little sister Barb and her two girls and of course my family. We stayed in a condo in Osage Beach. It was beautiful. Our balcony overlooked the lake. Every morning we would enjoy sitting on the balcony and watching the early boaters and the wildlife. It was relaxing! Jordan got to celebrate her 8th birthday there. While at the Ozarks we enjoyed swimming in the pool, putt-putt golfing, playing at their large water park, para-sailing and shopping at their huge 110 store outlet mall.

The putt-putt golf course was enjoyed by all. The girls all really enjoyed it. Of course Greg beat us all. The course was kind of an older one, but it was good enough for us. The large water park was a big hit. I think it was the most fun for the kids. We spent all day there. We got there about 10 a.m. and left around 5 p.m. They had many slides, pools and of course a wave pool. There was a lot of all of us to do. I even went down a couple slides.

Greg and my little sister Barb decided to go para-sailing. I was too scared because of all those America's Funniest Home videos that showed all those horrible take-offs and landings. I did not want to be the next victim on that show. Therefore, Greg and Barb were the only ones to go. It was not like I had imagined it. They were gently lifted off the back of the boat and then put back on the boat when they were done. It was very smooth and easy. I will definitely have to try it next time. I did however pay the person navigating the boat to dip Greg and Barb into the water. They only wanted there feet to touch the water, but as you can see from the picture, money talks!

The mall was fun. The girls got some of their back to school clothes here. The adults went shopping while Greg and the girls went to a souvenir shop and then to an indoor place that is kind of like Chucky Cheese. At the souvenir shop the girls and Greg all got sailor hats. They were quite cute.

Family

I am married to Greg. We have been married for 16 years. We have 3 daughters, Erika, Erin and Jordan. I am a middle school math teacher. Greg is an electrical service designer for a major electrical company in our state. The girls are going to be in 8th grade, 6th grade and 3rd grade this fall.

We are planning to go on a vacation soon. We decided to go down to the Ozarks this year. The girls are very excited. We are going with some extended family. It should be a lot of fun! We plan on taking a vacation in late winter or early spring to the mountains of Colorado for a family ski trip. Greg and I have not been skiing for almost 13 years. I am very excited for this vacation! I really enjoy skiing!

My family is very interested in sports. The girls play softball, volleyball and basketball. Greg and
I really enjoy watching them play! We even did some coaching this summer. We coached one of Erika's softball team. We learned a lot and hopefully the girls did too!
